Project Overview

Decom Engineering was engaged to cut through a hardened steel accelerator rod embedded in extremely hard seabed. The rod could not be dredged below the mudline or pulled out, necessitating a precise cut at seabed level. Other tooling had failed, but the C1-24 completed the cut within the estimated 1.5-hour timeframe.

Key Highlights

  • Completed cut where other tools had failed
  • Precise cut at seabed level on embedded rod
  • Single blade used for entire operation
