Project Overview
Decom Engineering was engaged as the sole cutting contractor for the decommissioning of the Petronas Chinguetti FPSO. Over 100 cuts were completed ahead of schedule on a wide variety of materials at 900-1,000m water depth. Cut times were highly efficient: 30 minutes for termination heads, 3 minutes for 84mm mooring chains, and 2 minutes for umbilicals, significantly reducing vessel time and costs.
