This project marked a significant milestone for TorqCut, the sister brand of Decom Engineering, representing the successful completion of its first onshore cutting scope in the Netherlands. Delivered in partnership with ARVI, the scope involved carrying out a high volume of precision cuts on an onshore steel pipeline.

The operation utilised the TQ-24 Chopsaw, adapted from proven subsea cutting technology to provide a reliable solution for onshore civil engineering applications. The TQ-24 was mounted to a 30 Te excavator using a CW40 quick hitch and hydraulically operated via a handheld radio control unit, allowing safe operation from a controlled distance.

The TQ-24 delivered exceptional efficiency, completing 170 cuts using just four blades. This total included two cuts on asbestos-coated pipe, which required an early blade end-of-life action.

This performance-led approach maximised project uptime while minimising consumable costs, validating TorqCut as a reliable partner for efficient onshore cutting solutions that support predictable and dependable project timelines.
