Decom Engineering was the sole cutting contractor for this scope, for both topside and subsea operations. This involved the cutting of 84mm R4 studless mooring chains, umbilicals and termination heads. 100+ cuts were completed ahead of schedule, resulting in saved vessel time.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Material: 508mm OD x 40mm WT, X70 steel. Duplex 152mm / 254mm, OD x 38mm WT inner, HD Polyurethane filler.

Water Depth: 900 – 1,000m

Deployment Method: ROV work pack, via hot stabs

Average Cut Time: Termination head: 30 mins; 84mm Mooring Chain: 3 mins; Umbilical: 2 minutes

Blade: 3 – 5 cuts per blade
